Pleasant Grove
Pleasant Grove is a town in Utah County North of Lindon and East of American Fork.
The town was founded in 1850 by LDS Pioneers. It was originally named "Battle Creek" after an 1849 skirmish in which pioneers massacred as band of Utes believing that the had stolen horses. The horses were not stolen and some pioneers knew the tribe was innocent.
Not surprisingly settlers preferred the quaint name "Pleasant Grove" to Battle Creek.
This strip of along the Wasatch Front remained a relatively rural area. The town filled in as a bedroom community and is now a city with a 2010 population of 33,509 .
