GreenSmoothieGirl (Robyn Openshaw) is a uperhero who travels the world extolling the benefits of whole foods. She is a bit like WordGirl ... but with green smoothies instead of words.
The whole foods message is not new. Long ago, doctors used to prescribe whole foods to their patients. The standing joke in 1950s sitcoms was that doctor put people on rabbit food diets. The doctors of yesteryear where right. A diet rich in whole foods is the best cure for many chronic ailments.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to convince people to eat massive quantities of leafy greens, beets, carrots and whole foods. Doctors gave up and started prescribing supplements and pharmaceuticals instead.
Mrs. Openshaw discovered that the trick is to blend the whole foods into delicious smoothies ... and who can resist a smoothie? I can't!
Robyn Openshaw has published a variety of books on Green Smoothies and hosts a series of seminars on making smoothies and a medicine cabinet makeover that replaces drugs with whole foods. Unfortunately, blending Green Smoothies requires a powerful blender such as the Blendtec blender.
In the video below, GreenSmoothieGirl interviews GreenSmoothie groupies.
