Timpanogos Grotto of the National Speleological Society
The Wasatch Mountains are composed of an interesting mix of granite, sandstone and lime stone. This mix results in some rather interesting caves. The Timpanogos Grotto of the National Speleological Society by the National Speleological Society is a local organization that supports safety, education, training and cave preservation.
The most notable cave in this neck of the wooks is the Timpanogos Cave National Monument. This cave is a fun day hike for the family. Joining the grotto is a good way to learn about other spelunking activities in the Provo area.
