Utah Foster Care

Foster care directly helps at risk children in Provo. Foster care is a demanding service, and I admire parents who are willing to take on the responsibility of helping those children in our society who are most in need.

Foster care is often a temporary situation during times of family crisis. Utah Courts try to keep families together. That means that foster care parents not only take on the burden of helping a troubled child, they often have to face the emotional difficulties of returning children to less than optimal situations when the family reunites. People who engage in foster care are all local heros.

Utah Foster Care Foundation is an organization that helps train foster parents and provides supporting "clusters" to help foster parents through all the difficulties of this demanding volunteer effort.

The site provides basic information on becoming a foster parent. The site has an outline on the courses for foster parents. The public section of the site lists events and other volunteer opportunities in foster care.
